Aside from the Mi 9, Xiaomi also launched the Mi 9 SE in China. It's a mid-ranger with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 710 SoC.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE features a gradient holographic rainbow spectrum surface behind and a 5.97-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, 600 nits of brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The screen highlights a big 90.5 percent of screen-to-body ratio and an In-Display fingerprint sensor.

Inside, it is the very first in the world with the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It also comes with the Adreno 616 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, 64GB/128GB UFS 2.1 storage, and 3,070mAh battery with USB-C 18W fast charging solution.

On the camera part, you will find a 48MP f/1.75 Sony IMX586 primary sensor paired with a 13MP f/2.4 ultra wide-angle lens, and 8MP f/2.4 2x telephoto lens. The phone has a 20MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

The phone also comes with WiFi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and dual SIM slots. It also has an IR sensor.

It boots with Android 9.0 Pie OS with MIUI 10 OS out of the box.

The phone measures at 147.5 x 70.5 x 7.45 mm and weighs at 155 grams. It comes in blue, violet, and dark grey color options.

Price and availability

Price starts at CNY 1,999 for the 6GB RAM/64GB ROM (around PHP 15K) and the 6GB RAM/128GB ROM costs CNY 2,299 (around PHP 17.7K).

It will go on sale in China starting March 1, 2019.

There's no word when it will go official in the Philippines yet.
