POCO has launched its new compact powerhouse, the POCO X8s, featuring next-generation cooling in the Philippines.

Introducing the POCO X8s, a noteworthy addition to the POCO X Series family, meticulously designed to deliver a balanced daily mobile experience. This device integrates a high-luminance compact AMOLED display, a versatile triple-camera system, advanced battery technology, and fast-charging capabilities, all within an ergonomic design conducive to effortless one-handed operation.

Departing from the prevailing trend of larger screens, the POCO X8s showcases a refined and compact design. It measures 151.1mm in height, 71.8mm in width, and possesses a slim profile of 8.06mm, weighing a mere 187 grams. The construction features a micro-curved aluminum frame paired with a premium glass back, providing a smooth tactile feel with gently rounded corners. Moreover, the camera module is designed to match the color of the device's body, ensuring a cohesive aesthetic.

In terms of durability, the smartphone attains an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and incorporates an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, which supports wet-touch technology and offers rapid press-and-slide unlocking. The device is available in three distinctive colors—Blue, White, and Black (with a unique black-and-silver dual-tone finish)—catering to diverse stylistic preferences.

The front of the POCO X8s is equipped with a 6.35-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display that boasts a resolution of 2656 x 1220 pixels, framed by ultra-narrow 1.18mm uniform bezels. 

This display utilizes a rare LTPO M10 panel at this price point, supporting an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, with multi-scenario peak brightness reaching up to 3,500 nits. It offers a 12-bit color depth and is compatible with Dolby Vision, ensuring vibrant visual experiences. To safeguard user vision during prolonged use, the screen incorporates three TÜV Rheinland eye-care certifications that address flicker-free operation, low blue light emission, and circadian-friendly standards.

For photographic capabilities, the POCO X8s is equipped with a comprehensive triple-camera setup. The primary camera features a 50MP Light Fusion 800 image sensor equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a sensor size of 1/1.55 inches, an aperture of f/1.77, and 2.0µm 4-in-1 Super Pixel technology.

This is complemented by a 50MP telephoto camera offering 2.5x optical zoom (57mm equivalent, f/2.2) and an 8MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2). For self-portraits, the device includes a 20MP front camera capable of capturing high-definition images, accompanied by Live Moment capture that supports video recording at up to 1080p for enhanced clarity.

Internally, the POCO X8s is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform, paired with an Adreno GPU. To facilitate optimal performance during intensive multitasking and extended gaming sessions, the device offers memory options of 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, combined with high-speed internal storage options of 256GB or 512GB.

The device's thermal management is further enhanced by POCO's 3D IceLoop cooling system, which features a large vapor chamber with a surface area of 4,497 mm², effectively reducing thermal throttling.

Notwithstanding its slim design, the device houses a substantial 6,330mAh (typical) Silicon-Carbon battery, which incorporates 16% silicon to enhance energy density. It supports 100W HyperCharge wired charging (PPS compatible) and 22.5W wired reverse charging, enabling the powering of compatible external devices while on the go. Connectivity options encompass 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an Infrared Blaster, and dual-SIM support with eSIM capability.

The POCO X8s operates on Xiaomi HyperOS 3 (built on Android 16) upon launch. This software suite introduces unique enhancements aimed at improving daily efficiency and responsiveness.

HyperOS 3 features deep performance scheduling optimizations that dynamically balance core clock speeds with power consumption, as well as advanced animation rendering that facilitates smoother multi-window navigation. Additionally, it includes enhanced cross-device ecosystem integration, advanced AI-driven photography tools within the gallery and camera viewfinder, and bespoke privacy controls.
