OPPO next flagship phone will come with Snapdragon 855 and 10x zoom!

At the recently concluded MWC 2019 event OPPO announced that they will have a Snapdragon 855 powered phone this year. The Chinese tech brand also introduced the innovative 10x zoom camera technology.

A new beast is coming!

On Weibo, OPPO's VP Shen Yiren confirmed that the company's next flagship phone will come with those two new tech, the Snapdragon 855 chip and the 10x zoom tech.

Rumors suggest that it will be dubbed as the OPPO Find Z, the direct successor of the Find X.

The Snapdragon 855 is one of the most powerful mobile chip today. It's a 7nm 64-bit octa-core processor with up to 284GHz clock speed. It is also paired with Adreno 640 GPU, one of the best for mobile gaming today.

10x zoom interface

On the other hand, OPPO's proprietary 10x zoom technology is a revolutionary mobile camera feature. It uses a big 48MP primary sensor and a 16MP 120-degree ultra-wide angle lens, and two D-Cut lenses which was assembled like a periscope-like lens to make the 10x lossless zoom possible. The periscope like array of lenses is there to preserve the details even when the zoom is maxed out. It is a combination of optical and digital tricks.

OPPO said that they will release a 5G capable phone soon. But, it is unclear if the phone will boot with 5G right off the bat. The rest of the missing details are unknown yet as well.

But, we can expect it to be so much better than the impressive OPPO Find X with full screen design and a pop-up camera.

We can expect OPPO to announce this device by the second quarter of 2019.
