E3 2019: Microsoft introduces Project Scarlett, promises 8K and 120Hz gaming

Microsoft Project Scarlett set for 2020


Project Scarlett will have a custom CPU based on AMD's Zen 2 Radeon RDNA architecture which is said to be four times faster than the Xbox One X. It will also use GDDR6 RAM which Microsoft claim to introduce resolution and framerates never seen before.

Project Scarlett promises no loading screen and will support 8K, 120Hz, variable refresh rates and, next generation ray-tracing. It will have an SSD which means faster boot up and load times. It will also use the SSD as virtual RAM.  In fact, Microsoft is promising 40 times performance boost compared to their current generation consoles.

Halo Infinite will also launch alongside Project Scarlett which is scheduled on Holiday 2020. More information is expected to be available in the next year and we can expect the console to be showcased on next year's E3.
