Yes, we know that high-end phones are already equipped with three cameras or more, so what's the big deal?

Like other high-end phones, it is packed with a 48MP Sony IMX586 OIS sensor with 1/2-type unit with 0.8μm pixel that uses Sony's "Quad Bayer" color filter to combine four pixels together to a 12MP output with large 1.6μm pixels.

But unlike its competitors, OnePlus added an f/1.6 lens for better low light performance and 7P element design camera for improved overall photography performance.

In addition, it goes with a secondary 16MP f/2.2 117-degree ultra wide-angle with distortion correction tech.

The third lens is an 8MP sensor with 3x telephoto with OIS.

OnePlus's triple-camera system also comes with PDAF, CAF, Laser AF, and LED flash.

It also goes with AI scene optimization and the Nightscape feature for stunning night shots.

For selfies, it comes with a 16MP f/2.0 pop-up camera.

The result? We think that it is one of the best camera phone in town. In fact, it got a massive score of 111 points at DxOMark.

Exciting right? Here are our first few shots!

Quick thoughts

Its 48MP shooter is better than most 48MP cameras that we ever tested yet. It has a syper fast autofocus system and AI scene detection which delivered images with crisp details and accurate colors in most conditions. It has well resolve details and wide dynamic range as well.

Its even has a good portrait mode has nice depth estimation and background to subject separation. We even find its edge detection to be respectable.

The secondary ultra-wide lens is no joke too. For us, it is one of the better ultra-wide lens around. Its overall quality is right up there with the Galaxy S10+ and P30 Pro.

From our memory, I won't even blame you if you will choose its wide shots with less distortion than S10+ and wider dynamic range than P30 Pro.

Even indoor shots looks great. Low light images are mostly respectable as well. It has noise, but it is minimal. To take better night shots, just use its Nightscape mode with 2s handheld long. OnePlus improved its Nightscape mode coming from the OnePlus 6T. Saving time is noticeably so much faster this time.

So far, my only gripe is I can't use the Nightscape with the ultra-wide cam.

Selfies are also natural looking with crisp details. The portrait mode using its selfie cam also has some of the better looking bokeh around. It could have been better in low light though.

Overall, now I know why many labeled the OnePlus 7 Pro as arguably the best phone in the world today.

Aside from its great design, game-changing 2K AMOLED 90Hz screen, and top-end hardware, it is a phone packed with powerful cameras.
