Helio G90T for Redmi Note 8 phones

MediaTek's official Weibo China page revealed that the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro will be powered by the new gaming-focused Helio G90T chipset.

To recall, the MediaTek G90T is an octa-core chip that uses ARM's Cortex-A76 and A55 processors with up to 2.05GHz clock speed paired with 800MHz Mali-G76 GPU. It also has support for up to 10GB RAM, to 60Hz refresh rate, and up to 64MP cameras.

Based on its first benchmark results, even the lower-end MediaTek Helio G90 (not the higher-end G90T) is even faster than the Snapdragon 730 chip.

As mentioned in our previous post, the Note 8 Pro's primary highlight is its 4MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 sensor.

But, it could also be a really good affordable gaming phone, thanks to the new MediaTek Helio G90T.
