On schedule, Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek released the G90 and G90T, the first two chips from the company's gaming-focused G-Series lineup.

Helio G90 highlights
MediaTek G90 sports an octa-core CPU with the up to 2.05GHz ARM Cortex-A76 and A55 processors found on flagship chips from Huawei and Qualcomm. It also uses the Mali-G76 GPU with up 800MHz, support for 10GB LPDDR4X RAM, and eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 storage.
MediaTek G90 and G90T also go with the company's "HyperEngine" technology to boost the overall performance of the phone.
It also has HDR10 support and a new "rapid response engine" to make touchscreen controls more responsive.and an intelligent network prediction tech.
G90/G90T also supports up to 64MP cameras at 22.5fps.
There's an intelligent network prediction tech as well. According to MediaTek, it can detect if the WiFi quality is degrading and automatically use an LTE connection as a backup.
The rest of the connectivity features include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4×4 MIMO, Dual 4G VoLTE support, Cat-12 DL/Cat-13 UL LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, and FM Radio.
G90 also has the "Dual Wake-up Word" support to access Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Most likely, we will see MediaTek target mid-range gaming phones with the G90 and G90T.
