Sony has launched two new models of its APS-C mirrorless camera series, the Alpha 6600 and 6100.

First, Sony Alpha 6600 is designed to address the needs and demands of photographers and videographers with its versatility. It is made to go for multiple types of shooting scenarios and users. Sony Alpha 6100 is geared towards users looking to move to interchangeable lens cameras. It is also suitable for a myriad of shooting scenarios for photos and videos.

The Sony APS-C also has an improvement in terms of lenses. There are two new lenses too, namely the E 16-55mm f/2.8 G standard zoom lens and the E 70-350mm f/4.5 - f/6.3 G OSS super-telephoto zoom lens. This further expands the Sony E-mount system to 54 lenses.

Both the Alpha 6600 and Alpha 6100 has a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS image sensor, the latest BIONZ X image processor, and a front-end LSI implemented in Sony full-frame cameras. This combination of technology allows the two cameras to deliver all-around enhancements in image quality and performance in both photos and videos.

The Alpha 6600 has an ISO range of 100 to 32000, Hi-Res internal 4K movie recording with full pixel readout without pixel binning in Super 35mm format, interval shooting for time-lapse videos, tiltable 3.0-type 921k-dot LCD screen, and built-in microphone.

It also has 5-axis in-body image stabilization, Sony Z battery for longer battery life that lasts for 720 images using viewfinder and 810 images using the LCD monitor. It also has an integrated headphone jack.

Both also have fast autofocus time at 0.02 seconds. Both have 425 focal-plane PDAF points and 425 contrast-detection AF points to provide the best focus quality in photos and videos. 

The two models also have Sony Real-time Technology which is the company's latest algorithm including AI object recognition to ensure that subjects are captured accurately. Real-time Eye AF is also available which uses AI-based object recognition to detect and process eye data in real-time.

It results in improved accuracy. speed and tracking performance for both humans and animal subjects.

Sony said that the new Alpha 6600 and Alpha 6100 will be available in the Philippines soon.
