Enabling the underserved segments of society through technology
Yorme Isko Moreno signed an ordinance two months ago that allows the city government to give monthly allowance for senior citizens, PWDs and solo parents that are residing in Manila. They will benefit from the partnership since it will result in a more efficient release of stipends.

With the PayMaya-enabled ID cards, going to the city hall is no longer necessary. He cited an example of the inconveniences of the senior citizens in claiming their annual birthday cash gift as tampering their IDs and waiting in line for hours. He added that all senior citizens whatever their health condition or social status will receive allowance through the PayMaya IDs. What is the key?
Isko Moreno said that he believes that technology is a big equalizer, that in using financial technologies, government services can be efficient and transparent so that Manila can be "smart city" of the future. PayMaya Founder and CEO Orlando B. Vea shared that PayMaya and the City of Manila have the same goals of enabling all citizens, and this partnership is just the first step toward that aspiration.
