MRT-4 fully operational by 2025

The 15.56-kilometer rail transport network is envisioned to decongest densely-populated areas of Quezon City, San Juan City, Mandaluyong City, Pasig City and the Ortigas Center, including Cainta and Taytay in Rizal.

The multi-billion peso project will have 11 stations, as shown in the image below:

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade earlier said the project will not only ease traffic woes but also help in moving commuters between eastern Metro Manila and Riza.

For its initial operations, the government said the MRT-4 could accommodate 234,433 passengers. Full operations, meanwhile, is being eyed by 2025.

It’s crucial that we start these projects - we'll be working on the procurement, that’s why we fast-tracked all these projects before the end of the year so that next year, we can focus purely on the detailed engineering and procurement of these big-ticket projects, Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar also said in a previous statement.
