OPPO introduces ColorOS 17, bringing major systemic performance gains, agentic AI tools, and a modernized visual overhaul to its device ecosystem.

OPPO's new ColorOS 17 brings modernized visuals and on-device AI

New Living Flow Design!

Debuting on the upcoming flagship OPPO Find X10 Series, ColorOS 17 emphasizes significant speed improvements, intelligent task automation, and enhanced security features for consumers.

OPPO claims that the most noticeable upgrade for users after installing ColorOS 17 is the enhanced speed, tactile feedback, and smoothness of the interface during everyday use. Thanks to the upgraded Laminar Flow Engine, app launch stability has improved by 55%, and the loading of first-launch Gallery thumbnails is accelerated by up to 50%. Devices running ColorOS 17 can keep over 25% more apps active in the background, reducing the likelihood of aggressive app termination when switching tasks.

User interactions should feel more responsive due to the Living Flow Design, which introduces Flexible Feedback, enabling buttons and toolbars to visibly compress, stretch, and rebound when touched. Visual elements are enhanced with translucent depth (Luminous Effect) and seamless motion transitions (Fluid Motion). The efficiency is further increased by the Unified Rendering Architecture and Luminous Rendering Engine, which reduce rendering workloads by up to 30% and cut rendering RAM usage by up to 25%. Additionally, six-year simulated aging tests demonstrate that ColorOS 17 retains over 90% of its initial smoothness, even when internal storage reaches 90% capacity.

OPPO ColorOS 17 AI features

ColorOS 17 upgrades OPPO AI from basic assistance to actionable, system-level automation, enabling it to manage complex routines in fewer steps. AI Mind Pilot introduces an Agent Mode that interacts with local files and web sources, allowing users to carry out multi-step requests such as organizing and renaming scattered files by their content, creating custom photo albums, or developing travel itineraries. Meanwhile, the AI Photo Agent simplifies image editing through conversational commands, along with Style Match, which analyzes the color grade, mood, and tone of a reference photo to apply those aesthetics to your personal photos without compromising their natural details.

For personal organization, AI Mind Space & Memory Collections serves as a centralized hub where saved documents and video links are automatically structured, summarized, and categorized into context-aware memories or personalized trip plans. Additionally, AI Mind Suggest proactively pushes contextual cards and reminders throughout the day, including morning briefs, real-time flight updates, and smart music recommendations when headphones are connected. Finally, OSee Visual AI connects the camera directly to actionable services, providing instant object recognition, knowledge lookups, nutritional information, high-definition document scanning, or translation with a single press of the shutter.

OPPO has also anchored its AI ecosystem with advanced security frameworks, notably through AI Call Guard, which utilizes on-device AI detection to scan incoming calls in real time and alert users instantly if synthetic voices or AI face-swap scams are identified. To protect user data, the enhanced Private Computing Cloud (PCC) architecture employs end-to-end dual encryption with post-quantum security algorithms, safeguarding data transmissions against emerging quantum decryption threats. Users also have complete visibility through a dedicated Transparency Report, which details exactly which AI services accessed personal data, when, and for what specific tasks, and can be exported directly from the device settings.
