New 8nm mid-range 5G SoC

Samsung's website recently updated with a new page for the new 8nm Exynos 880 mid-range SoC with an integrated 5G modem. It was designed to offer 5G connectivity for an affordable price. 

The Exynos 880 is equipped with 2 2.0GHz Cortex-A77 cores, 6 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 cores, an NPU and the Mali-G76 MP5 GPU. Included in the Exynos 880 are support for FHD+ displays, LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2. storage, Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 5, FM Radio, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo.

For cameras, the SoC supports up to a 64MP camera sensor, a dual 20MP camera set-up. 4K at 30fps video recording is also built-in.

The integrated modem supports sub-6GHz 5G with a maximum downlink of 2.55 Gbps and maximum uplink of 1.28Gbps respectively. It also supports E-UTRA-NR dual connectivity that uses 5G and 4G to offer faster downlink and uplink speeds.

The new SoC from Samsung debut with the recently launched Y70s 5G. Expect it to be available in several upcoming mid-range 5G Samsung phones soon.
