DxOMark has just released the iPhone SE 2020's DXOMark scores where it scored 103 in Photo, 98 in Video, and 101 in total. This places the iPhone SE 2020 in line with the iPhone XR.
The independent benchmark website claims that the budget iPhone SE 2020 offers good exposure and color. It excels in daylight and struggles in low light. While in Video, the iPhone SE produces pleasant footage with good exposure, well-controlled shadows, and highlight details. The video capabilities also struggle in low light.
Early in 2020, Apple released the second-generation iPhone SE that is equipped with the same 12MP f/1.8 rear-camera with phase-detection autofocus, OIS and 5X digital zoom found in the iPhone XR so it isn't a big surprise that the iPhone SE's camera total score is the same with the iPhone XR's DXOMark score.
For the front-facing selfie camera, DXOMark gave the iPhone SE 2020 a score of 84. The 7MP f/2.2 camera produces correctly exposed images with decent portrait modes and bokeh. Like the rear camera, it struggles in low light. While in selfie videos, the iPhone SE's 7MP camera produces well-balanced footage.
