Spotify partners with Riot Games

In this collaboration, Spotify and Riot Games will produce behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Worlds Anthem, produce various podcast series, create curated playlists, and launch a new League of Legends Esports Music Hub on Spotify.

League of Legends is one of the biggest esports in the world. In 2019, tournaments were held in over 37 different cities across five continents with a record-breaking viewership of 21.8 million Average Minute Audience watching during the 2019 World Championship Final.

In terms of Spotify, League fans and players also streamed the official League of Legends soundtrack playlist with over 4.8 million Spotify listeners per month.

The Official League of Legends Esports Hub will provide League of Legends fams with a spot for new and existing music, podcasts, and playlists inspired by the gaming community. It will also include the "Official League of Legends" and "Road to Worlds 2020 playlists.

The "Untold Stories: Top Moments from Worlds" will also be released. It is a 9-episode series leading up to the 10th League of Legends World Championship this Fall. 

Lastly, Spotify will also have the Worlds Anthem Takeover on Spotify. This musical anthem is the highly anticipated hero song of the year. It is released alongside a bespoke music video and is then performed during the Opening Ceremony of the World Championship Finals, setting the tone and celebrating the big event. In previous years, Riot Games has worked with artists including Imagine Dragons, The Glitch Mob, and Against the Current.
