The Department of Information and Technology (DICT) recently said that the government agency and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) have already reached an agreement with Telegram.
In particular, DICT was able to talk with Telegram representatives Ronak Singh and Abhimanyu Yadav amid porn and gambling concerns on their messaging platform.
Under the agreement, Telegram will ensure "safe digital space" with a 24/7 Helpdesk Response for immediate action on reports regarding illegal content, Regular Reporting with monthly updates of takedowns and other metrics to DICT and CICC, and Zero Tolerance with Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), illegal gambling, and others.
If there are problems, the public may also report to DICT at 1326@dict.gov.ph.
