Lowering barriers for local drivers

To help traditional drivers transition to electric vehicles without incurring significant debt or relying on bank loans, GreenGSM and the Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast have launched a flexible vehicle rental program.

Drivers can join the program with an initial deposit starting at PHP 5,000. The rental model allows them to choose between the Herio Green or VF5 (4-seater) models, or the Limo Green (7-seater) model. Since electric cars are much cheaper to operate and maintain than gasoline vehicles, drivers can significantly reduce their running costs and keep more of their earnings. Under GreenGSM's driver program, partners can retain up to 90 percent of their fare revenue.

Moreover, GreenGSM has introduced a new package of operational support benefits for early participants, which includes free charging, a 7-year warranty (or coverage for 160,000 kilometers) for the VF5, Herio Green, and Limo Green models, fleet coverage that encompasses overhead costs, vehicle registration, road maintenance fees, regular servicing, and compulsory insurance, along with on-site onboarding assistance.

The event also marked the launch of the Global Green GSM Driver Partner Community in the Philippines. This community platform allows drivers to share tips on operating electric cars, stay updated on company policies, and support each other on the road.

Currently, GreenGSM offers ride-hailing and taxi services in major urban centers across Metro Manila, Central Visayas, and Mindanao. In addition to its own fleet, the company collaborates with local taxi operators to expand the availability of electric taxi options nationwide.
