Acer announces Porsche Design Acer Book RS, Chromebooks Spin series, and ConceptD 7 series

Earlier, Acer unveiled a myriad of products ranging from homeschool solutions, gaming, and a Porsche Design collaboration.

As we convert our living area into our workspace during the pandemic, Acer announced two new Chromebooks with the Spin 513 and Spin 7. The Chromebook Spin 513 is a convertible device that can be used in numerous orientations such as tablet mode, tent mode, normal laptop mode, and collaboration mode. It features a 13.3-inch display contained in a compact and light 12-inch form factor weighing at just 1.2kg. Inside, it has a Snapdragon 7c compute platform with an optional 4G LTE connectivity and an Adreno 618 GPU. It also boasts a 14-hour battery life.

Acer Chromebook Spin 7

The Acer Chromebook Spin 7 is the first 5G Chromebook as well as the first one equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G compute platform. It also promises up to 29 hours of battery life and Acer Active Stylus support with Wacom AES technology.

Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass

Both the Chromebook Spin 513 and Spin 7 along with the Acer Educational Devices will get the anti-microbial solutions. The Spin 513 and Spin 7 features the Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass protection as well. This assures that the device will be kept sanitize which is very important during these times.

The Acerpure Cool 2-in-1 Air Circulator and Purifier were also announced. This air circulator/purifier will adhere to the CDC's encouragement of increasing outdoor airflow as much as possible. It comes with a triple-filtration system and a 16-meter Airflow booster.

Acer ConceptD 7 and D 7 Pro

The new line of creator-centric laptops with the Acer Concept D 7 and D 7 Pro were also announced. These are powerful devices designed to let creators be creative without hampering productivity with beastly specs.

The Acer Concept D7 Pro will feature a 15.6-inch 4K Delta <2 UHD monitor, 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super MaxQ GPU, and the new Vortex Flow three-fan cooling technology with <40dBa fan noise even at max.

The Acer Concept D7 Pro will also feature a 15.6-inch 4K Delta <2 UHD monitor, 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 MaxQ GPU, and the same Vortex Flow three-fan cooling technology with <40dBa fan noise even at max.

Both models will be NVIDIA Studio certified. Both models will also have up to 32GB DDR4 RAM, and up to 2TB M.2 PCIe SSD storage.

Acer Predator Gaming X Microsoft Xbox GamePass

Acer Predator Gaming teamed up with Microsoft to bring the Xbox GamePass along with the new Predator Gaming laptops and PCs as well as Nitro devices. This will give access to premium PC AAA games users as well as EA Play access.

The company also showcased improvements on its thermal management with the new 5th Gen Aeroblade and Vortex Flow. Vortex Flow was first utilized with the Triton 500. It uses strategically placed fans to ensure the most efficient and effective airflow. This allows for lower skin temperature and more power efficiency for more performance.

Acer Predator Frostblade

The Predator Frostblade 120mm fans were also announced. These are standalone 120mm fans that feature Acer's thermal fan designs with RGB support, hydrodynamic bearings, and anti-vibration padding to lower the amount of sound generated. It has great airflow as well as high static pressure which is important if natural airflow in a room is limited.

5th Gen Aeroblade fans

The 5th Gen Aeroblade now has +10 percent more airflow compared to the last generation as well as a 0.08mm fan blade. These cooling techs will be seen in Predator devices in Q1 2020. The new Predator Triton 500 will also be upgraded with a 360Hz refresh rate displays.

Porsche Design Acer Aero Book RS has 11th Intel Core i7 processor

Now, the most premium collaboration was saved for last. Acer teamed up with Porsche Design to produce a laptop with sleek, functional design as well as beastly performance. It has an all-metal chassis covered with carbon fiber for a distinctive, minimalist design.

It features a 14-inch FHD IPS screen with ultra-narrow bezels to achieve a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also has a 100 percent sRGB color gamut, anti-microbial Corning Gorilla Glass.

Inside, it has an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, with Intel Iris X graphics, an optional NVIDIA MX350 discrete GPU, and up to 16GB RAM. It also boasts a 17-hour battery and fast charging that can supply 4 hours of battery life with a 30-minute charge. It has dual-band Intel WiFi 6, USB-C, Thunderbolt 4, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

Porsche Design Acer TravelPack

There are also Porsche Design accessories to complete the look. The Porsche Design Acer Mouse RS features the same carbon fiber/steel look, Bluetooth connectivity, and a DPI switch for three preset sensitivity levels. There's the Porsche Design TravelPack as well that features a mousepad, carrying pouch, and notebook sleeves. The travel pouch is made out of ECCO PALERMO XA leather.

Only the Predator XB3 Vision Care display's availability window was announced at Q1 2020. The rest did not have information on pricing as well as availability just yet. We will update you as soon as we get more information.
