Last December 10, Gawad Kalinga and Globe unveiled that the latter will provide reliable, high-speed internet at an affordable rate for village residents in Parañaque, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, and Imus, Cavite.

The joint project will be supported by the local government units of each area. The Gawad Kalinga residents will be able to connect using the KonekTayoWiFi service. Service can be purchased for as low as PHP 15 per day. No need for new WiFi devices, monthly fees, or modems.

Globe’s KonekTayoWiFi and Gawad Kalinga’s partnership is set to bolster efforts to widen the availability of affordable internet in Gawad Kalinga villages with the deployment of the service across various locations in the country including Quezon City, Laguna, Trece Martires, Cavite, Iloilo City, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, and Cagayan de Oro City.

KonekTayoWiFi, formerly known as KapitWiFi, is a fast and secure community WiFi service that aims to provide households with affordable internet. With KonekTayoWiFi, customers simply need to connect to a KonekTayoWiFi hotspot, purchase a promo, and surf all day.
