The "slide-phone" can fold to the size of a credit card

OPPO has always tried to stand out from the smartphone crowd with new creative designs. Now, the brand teamed with Japanese design studio nendo to showcase new conceptual design during the 4th China Internation Industrial Design Expo.

OPPO is always pushing the boundaries of smartphone design. In November, the company showcased the rollable handset called OPPO X 2021 during the OPPO INNO DAY 2020 event. The size of the conceptual device’s rollable display is adjustable within a specified range, offering a new perspective on the future of devices and how users might interact with them.

OPPO showcased two new conceptual design at the CIIDE. The two designs were dubbed as the "slide-phone" and "music-link" respectively. First up, the slide-phone's concept came to be as OPPO and nendo discovered that smartphone users use their devices more to interact with the world around them.

Smartphone size is becoming a concern since it is trending to bigger designs overall. The "slide-phone" aims to solve this dilemma by providing three foldable screens attached by hinges. By providing users with the flexibility to change the form of the phone as needed, users may benefit from the ability to change its size to suit the situation. Furthermore, a stylus inserted in the phone can prove to expand its usability more.

"Music-link" is a seamless connection between devices

"Music link" is centered around a collection of devices including a pair of TWS earphones, a smartwatch, AI speaker, portable charger, and wireless charger. All devices are designed in a sleek form to suit the users' design choices nowadays.

The main takeaway from "Music link" is seamless connectivity. For instance, when the TWS earphone and charging case is placed on the AI speaker, the music will seamlessly transfer to the speaker to continue the listening session.
