HONOR V40 5G with Dimensity 1000+ launched, the company's first phone in the post-Huawei era

On schedule, HONOR today launched the HONOR V40 5G flagship smartphone. It's the company's first device post-Huawei era.

HONOR V40 5G uses a gradient back design with unique patterns in Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, and Rose Gold colors. It also has a vivo Big Eye-like camera hump behind.

In front, it boasts a 6.72-inch 80-degree curved OLED screen with w/ 120Hz refresh rate, 300Hz touch sampling rate, 2676 x 1236 resolution up to 800 nits brightness, and a top-left-aligned punch-hole for the 16MP + ToF selfie cams.

Inside, it is powered by MediaTek's fast 2.6GHz 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ octa-core processor with Mali-G77 MC9 w/ GPU Turbo X graphics. It is paired with 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with USB-C 66W SuperCharge + 50W Wireless SuperCharge.

For cameras, it highlights the 1/1.56-inch large 50MP f/1.9 RYYB Sony IMX766 + 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle camera + 2MP f/2.4 macro w/ laser autofocus + LED flash.

Since HONOR is no longer connected with Huawei and it is no longer subject to the US ban, online tech publication The Verge noted that its international version called HONOR View 40 might come with pre-installed Google Services out of the box.
