Trump bans more Chinese apps!

On Tuesday, January 5, 2021, President of the United States Donald Trump signed an executive order banning transactions with eight Chinese apps that further apply pressure to Chinese tech companies.

This new executive order is set to take effect 45 days after it was signed. This means that it will take effect after Trump leaves the oval office.

The order bans transactions with Ant Group's Alipay, Tencent QQ Wallet, WeChat Pay, CamScanner, SHAREit, VMate, and WPS Office.

This move seems to further escalate the US-China trade war that began when President Donald Trump issued an executive order banning China-based Huawei Technologies and just recently when the president banned TikTok.
