HarmonyOS for Huawei flagship devices!
The company noted that it is coming to the Mate X2 foldable flagship smartphone first.
Back in December, Huawei revealed that the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, Mate 30, Mate 30 5G, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 40 Pro 5G, MatePad Pro, and MatePad Pro 5G users may upgrade to the HarmonyOS 2.0 beta.
This suggests that the above-mentioned phones will be getting the commercial version of Huawei's own operating system soon.
As a quick recap, HarmonyOS is a microkernel-based and cross-platform lightweight OS designed to run across different devices and scenarios. It will work on your phone, tablet, car, smartwatches, and many more. Its UI will adjust to fit the screen of that device and what features it needs.
It is also said to be less fragmented than Android boasting enhanced security and low latency.
HarmonyOS or Harmony OS (also known as Hongmeng OS in China) was first made available on Smart TVs and a car in partnership with BYD.
