Spotify HiFi is coming!

Finally! Spotify HiFi!

The world's leading music subscription music provider finally joined competitors like Tidal and Amazon Music in the HiFi audio streaming race.

Basically, Spotify HiFi will deliver "CD-quality" lossless audio format to your device and Spotify Connect-enabled speakers.

To recap, the max bit rate of Spotify is 320 kbps. While it is higher than the 256 kbps streaming of Apple Music and YouTube Music, it is lower than the max 1141 kbps bit rate of Tidal.

Competitor Tidal even has a Master Quality audio with up to 24-bit/192kHz or 9216 kbps.

Spotify has yet to detail the level of HiFi that it will provide for its users.

But likely, Spotify will use FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) which offers bit-perfect copies of CDs at half the size. Obviously, it'll deliver better sound versus MP3.

To those who don't know, lossless audio retains every single bit of detail from the original recording.

Spotify noted that high-quality audio streaming is consistently one of the most requested new features by its users.

Likely, once the service is out in the market, it'll benefit those who own HiFi-grade audio gears like headphones, earphones, speakers, and audio sources.

Spotify HiFi will begin rolling out in select markets later this year. The pricing of the service is yet to be announced.

Stay tuned for more info!
