According to a Facebook post by INQUIRER.net, the official website of The Philippines Daily Inquirer, DITO Telecommunity will launch in Metro Manila on May 17.
To recap, back in March, the third telco previously said that the company is preparing to expand in Metro Manila in a few weeks. Now, we have an official launch date.
As of writing, the news outlet hasn't shared any other details about DITO's Metro Manila launch yet. But likely, this is part of the telco's program to make its mobile data services available to more areas in the country.
To recap, DITO first launched in select areas of VisMin last March 3, 2021, followed by an expansion to Luzon and a few more locations on May 1, 2021.
The official local 3rd telco backed by Davao's Dennis Uy and China Telecommunications is currently offering 25GB of "high speed" data for only PHP 199 valid 30 days.
DITO promised to provide 27 megabits per second of speed, covering 37 percent of the Philippine population in its first year.
