GCash offers more than cashless payment

The platform has enabled Filipinos by providing easy access to digital finance. According to GCash, 1 out of 3 is currently using the app after it increases its users to more than 20M. In January 2020, the user base grew to over 40 million as of writing.

To further its goal of making Filipino lives better, GCash is providing financial solutions made for all. It extends the app capabilities relevant to its user's lifestyle. Aside from that, it also aims to empower businesses and entrepreneurs across different enterprise sizes.

With this in mind, GCash is now offering financial and lifestyle services to its users within the app. President and Chief Executive Officer Martha Sazon shared,

We want to make a real difference in the lives of every Filipino and break the existing boundaries to enable financial freedom. We envision the Philippines where people have equal access to financial opportunities and lifestyle choices, where everyone, whether rich or poor, has a chance to unlock and achieve their dreams.

First off the list is the GInvest, an investment feature that allows customers to invests for as low as 50 pesos in local and global funds. Meanwhile, GInsure is designed for those who are looking for affordable coverage since they can get insurance for medical emergencies. Apart from this, they can apply for financial assistance via Cash For Medical Costs and Cash For Income Loss.

Through GSave, users can enjoy a digital, secure, and hassle-free savings account. They only need a valid ID and smartphone. Once you finished creating the account, you can fully access it without maintaining balance, fees, and initial deposit.

In terms of loans, GCredit can be a good alternative compared to institutions offering high interests. The feature serves as the user's personal credit line that can provide up to PHP 30K credit line. The earlier the due is paid, the lower the interest rate.

Next is the e-commerce feature called GLife that lets users shop and avail themselves of exclusive deals from a wide array of merchants. This includes GOMO, Gong Cha,  Kraver’s, McDonald’s, Puregold and PureGO, Lazada, Recess, Boozy, Bo’s Coffee, Mama Lou’s, GawinPH, KFC, Datablitz, Cherry Shop, Game one, Goama Games, and more.

In order to help in mobilizing the economy, GCash also released GCash QR on Demand. With this feature, users can conveniently generate their own Personal QR and use this in place of giving their GCash number. This is a safer method compared to giving away your mobile numbers and also prevent wrong sends to incorrect numbers.

Moreover, GCash plans to empower OFWs to manage their finances by making its services accessible to them. Soon, it will be launching GPadala so they can send money to a non-GCash user for cash pick up
