Huawei outs Watch 3, MateView GT, and more in APAC!

Tech giant Huawei earlier released an array of new devices for the APAC market—a lot of them are available in the Philippines.

Plenty of new devices for the APAC region!

In particular, these items are MatePad Pro 12.6, MateView, Watch 3 series, FreeBuds 4, MateView GT, and nova 8i. These devices are designed to help its users do better work from home, improve fitness and health management, and experience enhanced entertainment.

Huawei will continue to provide more powerful smart devices and strive for bringing the more perfect, richer, and comprehensive smart life experience in all scenarios to the consumers in the APAC region.

To recap, the HarmonyOS 2-powered MatePad Pro 12.6 was introduced a bit earlier for the Philippine market and it retails for PHP 55,999. Earlier, we also covered the FreeBuds 4 and nova 8i.

Now, let's talk about the Watch 3, MateView GT, and MateView.

First introduced in China, the Huawei Watch 3 is a HarmonyOS 2-powered fully-pledge smartwatch.

It boasts a metal body with a 3D rotating crown replacing the usual button on the right to navigate its UI easier and different strap designs including Active with the silicon strap, Classic with leather strap, Elite with metal band, and Classic with a Milanese band as well as ceramic back.

Note that only the Watch 3 Active with Black Strap variant is available in the Philippines. 

The display it uses is a 1.43-inch rounded AMOLED panel at 326 ppi, 1,000 nits brightness, and strengthened glass. It is also weather-resistant and could work even when wet. The touchscreen also works even when you are wearing gloves.

It also has heart rate, SpO2 (blood-oxygen), and skin temperature sensors as well as 24/7 stress and sleep tracking capabilities.

One cool feature of this smartwatch is it has the eSIM support providing regular calls, one-sided MeeTime video calls, stream music via Huawei Music transferred to your Bluetooth headphones.

For battery, it can last up to 3 days when 4G is active on a single charge. Using the Ultra-Long Lasting Mode while keeping SpO2, workout modes, Bluetooth calling, and animated watch face on, it can last for up to 2 weeks or 14 days.

As mentioned, the OS it is using is the HarmonyOS 2 with interactive watch faces, grid-launcher, and smooth UX animation. AppGallery is also available on this watch allowing its users to install HarmonyOS apps on the watch.

It also has a feature that can be used as a 
smart home control center that can be used to turn on home appliances or open the door of your smart car, among others.

Of course, it has health management functions and can be tracked via Huawei Health App. For workouts, the company claimed that it has over 100 modes with 17 professional workout modes and fall detection which uses the eSIM connection to send SOS if you have been hurt.

Next is the Huawei MateView GT, the company's newest gaming monitor that is said to be Esports-ready.

It boasts a 34-inch curved 1500R LCD with a 165Hz refresh rate, WQHD 3440 x 1440 resolution, and a 21:9 aspect ratio.

The MateView GT also has 100 percent sRGB coverage, 90 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, ΔE < 2 color accuracy, 350 nits peak brightness, TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free Certification, and TÜV Rheinland Low Bluelight Certification.

The monitor also has a unique dual 5W speaker soundbar on the monitor's base with touch volume control, lighting effects, and a 360-degree dual-mic system.

The monitor also features with has a "Dark Field Control" Game Assistant and a five-way joystick OSD.

In addition, it has 1x USB-C for display, data transfer, and 10W max charging as well as 1x USB-C for power supply, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DP1.4, and a 3.5mm 2-in-1 headset slot.

The monitor also has support for VESA 100 x 100 mm wall mount, 110 mm height adjustment, and 5 to 20 degrees forward and backward tilt.

MateView

The Huawei MateView is a 28.2-inch LCD monitor with a 60Hz refresh rate, 4K+ 3840 x 2560 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, and slim bezels boasting a 94 percent screen-to-body ratio. It also has 100 percent sRGB coverage, 90 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, ΔE < 2 color accuracy, and 500 nits peak brightness.

Huawei said that this is designed for smart office scenarios thanks to its professional color display performance.

Huawei also highlights that it has a VESA Display HDR 400 Certification, TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free Certification, and TÜV Rheinland Low Bluelight Certification.

The display also has a "theatre-level sound" as well as an independent DSP calibration. It also goes with dual speakers for stereo sound and dual microphones.

Other features of the MateView include a Smart Bar for controls, functions, and settings. This monitor can be connected via USB-C, 2x USB-A, HDMI, and MiniDP interfaces. It also has an option for wireless casting.

The Huawei Watch 3 is now available for pre-order in the Philippines until July 14, 2021. It'll come with a FREE Huawei Band 4 worth PHP 1,890.

The MateView GT is also available for pre-order until July 14, 2021, with a FREE Huawei Classic Backpack in Forest Green color worth PHP 5,999.

There's no info about the price of MateView and nova 8i yet.
