Samsung foldable smartphones aren't often famous for durability. But, the new Samsung Galaxy Fold3 5G appears to be different.
That's surprising!

Tougher and better than older foldables

To recap, Samsung improved the durability of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G. It now comes with tougher materials like the Armor Aluminum, Gorilla Glass Victus, and a new Protective Film. Moreover, it now has IPX8 of water resistance.

Samsung claims that the new protective film is 80 percent more durable than the previous generation while the new Armor Aluminum is 10 percent stronger. Meanwhile, Gorilla Glass Victus is 50 percent tougher than Gorilla Glass 6.

AND, based on JerryRigEverything's durability test, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is quite durable for a foldable smartphone.

The front display and glass back with Gorilla Glass Victus will only get scratches at level 6 or 7 of the scratch test. The inner folding display won't still be as scratch-resistant, but it is still better than the previous generation. Moreover, it has water resistance.

The surprise here is it survived the bend test even then the device was unfolded. Previous generation foldable all failed this test.

But of course, it is still better if you will take care of your fold even if it is now tougher than ever as it is an expensive device.

In the Philippines, the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G 12GB/256GB  retails for PHP 87,990 while the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G 12GB/512GB is priced at PHP 95,990.

What do you guys think?
