Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G with under-display cam, IPX8, tougher body, and more priced in PH!
Alongside the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, Buds2, and Watch4, Samsung has officially launched the Z Fold3 5G with tougher materials and water resistance!

Smaller but tougher and better!
The new Z Fold3 5G features a massive 7.6-inch inner folding display and a 6.2-inch cover display. Both are Dynamic AMOLED 2x panels with a 120Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The inner panel has a resolution of 2208 x 1768 and a 374 PPI while the outer cover screen has a resolution of 2260 x 832 and a 387 PPI.
Inside the new Fold3 5G is the 5nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, 256GB/512GB UFS 3.1, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and a 4,400mAh battery. It is running on Android 11 with OneUI 3.1.
Like the Fold2, the new Fold3 5G features cameras on the inner and outer sides of the phone. The rear camera module is made up of a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, 12MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, Dual Pixel AF and a 12MP f/2.4 2x Telephoto with LED flash while on the cover display punch hole is the 10MP f/2.2. The last camera is the under-display camera found on the inner folding display. To make this happen, Samsung used SuperClear Glass with Gorilla Glass DX.
Samsung says that consumers have requested a slimmer and lighter body for its foldables. When folded, 2020's Z Fold2 measured 159.2mm x 68 x 16.8 mm and weighed 282 grams.
Samsung managed to shave off a few pounds with the Z Fold3 5G now measuring at 158.2 x 67.1 x 16 mm and weighing only 271 grams. This managed to make it 11 grams lighter. This may seem small at first, but when you add a case to the device, it makes a big difference.

Aside from the specs, Samsung claims that it listened to its consumer requests and has made the Z Fold3 tougher while being smaller and lighter.
It now has IPX8 water resistance while being made with stronger materials like Armor Aluminum, Gorilla Glass Victus, and a new Protective Film. Samsung says that the new Armor Aluminum is 10 percent stronger than previous materials. The Gorilla Glass Victus on the other hand is 50 percent stronger than Gorilla Glass 6 and the new Protective Film is 80 percent more durable.
Samsung has also added S Pen support to the Z Fold3 5G like when Samsung added S Pen support for the S21 Ultra 5G.
Samsung has also optimized the software experience by optimizing the UX for a larger screen, making more intuitive interaction, and by app optimization at the device level.
Lastly, the phone comes in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Green.
