Right off the bat, we are going to say that this is one of the best smartphones in the price range. It comes in a white box with blue branding and logos. At the back, you will find the key specs of the TECNO CAMON 17P. At the bottom, you get more information like the warranty period, certifications, and the color/configuration of the device.

As a recap, the CAMON 17P has a 6.8-inch FHD+ IPS screen, MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB expandable storage, 5,000mAh battery with 18W Dual IC Flash Charge, and a 64MP Ultra-Clear quad-camera system.

Once you open the box, you will be greeted by the CAMON 17P itself. It is enclosed in a protective sheet of plastic with some text about the device name and key specs. You also get a warranty card, documentations, a TPU translucent protective case, a fast-charging wall adapter, the SIM ejector tool, earphones with a mic, and the USB-C cord. The CAMON 17P also has a built-in screen protector as well.

The device itself has a 3D curved polycarbonate back that feels and looks more premium than its price. It is not a fingerprint magnet as well. It is available in Frost Silver, Magnetic Black, and Spruce Green. It also has a vertically oriented camera bump for the 64MP quad-cameras.

In front, it has a 6.8-inch 2.5D curved IPS screen with 2460 x 1080 FHD+ resolution and 395 ppi pixel density. It also has a punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie camera. It has decent viewing angles and slim bezels all around except for the chin.

On top, there's nothing. At the bottom, there's the speaker, USB-C port. and the headphone jack. At the left, it has the triple slot tray for the dual Nano-SIM cards and a microSD card. It also has a rubber gasket here. At the right, it has the volume button and the power button as well.

For cameras, it has quad-camera setup with 64MP f/1.79 w/ PDAF + 2MP f/2.4 Macro + 2MP f/2.4 Bokeh + QVGA AI f/2.0 + Quad Flash. This setup also has a user-friendly camera interface with modes like Cinematic Master, 2K Time-lapse, video bokeh, and night video portrait modes. For selfies, it has a 16MP f/2.0 sensor with dual-flash.

The shots we took under great lighting from the sun came out with great details. It retains great detail up to 2x zoom while image quality suffers once your reach beyond that. The Macro Mode also works well. The Night shots are surprisingly good for the price as well.

By default, the selfie camera has no filters loaded which is a plus.
