At the company's recently concluded X-Summit event, FUJIFILM has just announced the new 51 Megapixel GFX50S II camera. It features a similar body to the GFX100S but with a lower resolution sensor, a lack of 4K video recording, and a lower price tag. In fact, it is the most affordable digital Medium format camera that's been released so far.

It features a 51.4MP medium format CMOS sensor with a contrast-detect AF and with a 5-axis In-body image stabilization that supposedly delivers up to 6.5-stops of vibration reduction. At the core of the new camera is the quad-core X-Processor 4 that the company claims to provide faster and more precise autofocus.

The body is made of highly rigid magnesium alloy that provides a durable body while being lightweight. The body is designed and engineered with over 60 locations of weather resistance which allows it to operate in freezing temperatures of up to -10 degrees Celsius.

At the back is a 3.2-inch tilting TFT LCD touch display while the EVF is a 3.69M-dot display with 100 percent coverage and 0.61 magnification.

The X-Processor 4 also allows the camera to capture up to 200MP images using the Pixel Shift Multi-shot feature. 

One of the most interesting additions is that FUJIFILM allows users up to six (6) customizable positions. 

It stores all the images in two UHS-II card slots. It connects via USB 3.2 Gen1 and a micro-HDMI port. It supports USB charging and it can connect wirelessly thru Bluetooth and WiFi.

The camera can capture up to 1920 x 1080 at 30fps at up to 200Mbps. Lastly, it is powered by the same NP-W235 Li-ion battery from the X-T4.

Alongside the new body, FUJIFILM also launched the new super-compact GF35-70mm F4.5-5.6 WR kit lens.
