vivo hasn't shared many details about the chip yet, but it is designed to improve the photography capabilities of its smartphones.

According to the company, the vivo custom Imaging Chip V1 was developed in 24 months by an R&D (Research and Development) team made up of over 300 persons.

It was developed in four key directions:

The VP also confirmed that the chip will be available on the upcoming X70 series. The X70 series will include X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro+. But, the chip is only expected to be available on the Pro+ model.

Apart from the custom ISP, the Pro+ will feature the ZEISS T* camera lens which was seen on the Sony Xperia 1 smartphones.
