DxOMark: The cameras Apple iPhone 13 mini ties iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro beats Mate 40 Pro!

Camera benchmark authority DxOMark today published the camera ratings of the new iPhone 13 mini and 13 Pro MaxBoth achieved very impressive scores.

In particular, the back cameras of the new iPhone 13 mini recorded a Photo score of 138, a Zoom score of 55, and a Video score of 117 for a total score of 130 points

According to DxOMark, it is the new top smartphone in the Premium segment beating the iPhone 12 mini last year. It also managed to enter the top 10 of the Global rankings by tying the score the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

On the other hand, the iPhone 13 Pro recorded an impressive Photo score of 144 points, a Zoom score of 76, and a Video score of 119 points for a total score of 137 points.

137 is good enough to beat the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra. The P50 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and Mate 40 Pro+ still have higher overall scores, but its Video score of 119 points is the highest among all smartphones that DxOMark labs have ever tested yet.

For the iPhone 13 mini, DxOMark notes that its overall camera performance is very close to the more expensive iPhone 13 Pro and even better than the iPhone 12 Pro Max except for the tele zoom. It added that it is the best option for mobile photographers who prefer smaller phones.

For the iPhone 13 Pro, DxOMark said that the device mingles among the very best devices in its camera rankings. It also has a vivid color rendering with nice skin tones and nice ram touch. The camera is also generally very reliable.

For selfies, the two achieved a Photo score of 101 and a Video score of 95. 

Apple achieved this feat by using a 12MP f/1.6 sensor with sensor-shift OIS + 12MP f/2.4 120-degree ultra-wide-angle camera on the iPhone 13 mini.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 13 Pro uses a larger 12MP f/1.4 sensor with 1.9µm pixels, sensor-shift OIS, and Dual Pixel AF + 12MP f/1.8 13mm equivalent ultra-wide-angle camera with PDAF and 2cm macro + 12MP f/2.4 77mm equivalent 3x tele lens with OIS + a 3D sensor.
