Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and premium specs now official!
Following Motorola's footsteps, Xiaomi yesterday on schedule released its first two phones with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip—the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

Xiaomi has two new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
First is the Xiaomi 12. It's the more compact offering that features a "TrueColor" 6.28-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display with In-Display fingerprint scanner, 3.0GHz 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor, new-gen Adreno GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, and a 4,500mAh battery capacity with USB-C 67W fast charging + 50W wireless charging + 10W reverse wireless charging.
Keeping the performance in check is an extra-large 2600mm² VC soaking plate (body), 10000mm² heat-dissipating graphite, and white graphene (antenna area).
For cameras, it is using the 50MP f/1.88 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX766 primary camera with PDAF and OIS. It is paired with the 13MP f/2.4 123-degree ultra-wide-angle camera + 5MP f/2.4 telemacro camera + LED flash. This has the ability to shoot up to 8K videos.
In front, it has a top-center notch to house the 32MP front camera. The device also has Harman Kardon stereo speakers, Hi-Res Audio certification, IR Blaster, and Android 11 oS with MIUI 12.5 skin. It will be updated to MIUI 13 next month.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the more capable device. It uses an upgraded 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ 3200 x 1440 resolution. It also has an In-Display fingerprint scanning tech.

The device is also powered by the same processor and has a similar memory configuration to the regular Xiaomi 12.
For cooling, it has an extra-large 2900mm² VC and 3 large heat dissipation graphite sheets. The antenna area also has white graphene.

For cameras, it has a trio of 50MP shooters. The primary camera is a 50MP f/1.88 1/1.28 Sony IMX707 w/ PDAF, OIS. It is an extra-large sensor with up to 49 percent better lighting capturing than the previous-gen sensor. It is paired with the Samsung JN1 115-degree ultra-wide-angle + 50MP f/1.9 Samsung JN1 2x portrait camera + LED flash.
