DxOMark: HONOR Magic4 Ultimate is the new top camera phone in the world, scoring 146 points!

Global camera testing authority DxOMark labs today revealed the imaging rating of the newly announced HONOR Magic4 Ultimate.

The device achieved a Photo score of 153, a Zoom score of 107, and a Video score of 117 points for an Overall Camera Score of 146 points.

At 146, the HONOR Magic4 dethroned the Huawei P50 Pro with 144 points. Basically, the device got the highest Photo and Zoom score. Only the Video score failed to dethrone the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 119 points.

DxOMark notes that the device achieved high-quality photo results in all test categories in all lighting conditions that can capture images in an instant making it suitable for action photography. 

It also delivered high-quality night photography, true flagship-grade zoom with very good medium-range performance. The testing firm also said that its ultra-wide camera also has high image quality and a wide field of view.

It also has very high details for videos with accurate exposure as well as effective stabilization even in low light.

The company achieved this by using a 1/1.12-inch sensor 50MP f/1.6 Wide Camera with a customized 8P Lens + 64MP Ultra-Wide camera with Dual Free-Form Lens + 64MP f/3.5 Periscope Telephoto Camera with OIS + 50MP f/2.0 Spectrum Enhanced Camera.

It also has a new custom-made image processor for faster and more efficient AI computations as well as the "industry's strongest" 4K Night mode video.

With a DXOMARK Camera score of 146 the Honor Magic4 Ultimate is the new No. 1 in our ranking, thanks to outstanding still image performance across multiple use cases, such as portraits, night shots, cityscapes, action images and zooming. The Honor also does very well in the video category, with good detail capture, and very efficient stabilization. Overall video performance is on par with its main rivals.

Apart from capturing the top score for cameras, DxOMark also revealed that the handset has the highest Display rating among all the Android devices they tested. Only the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are higher.
