Globe delivers consistent connectivity in recent polls

In a statement, the industry giant attributed the consistent connectivity to its "aggressive expansion", calling its infrastructure "#1stWorldNetwork".

We are glad to support the May 2022 electoral process and enable the speedy transmission of votes. We can see that our investments in our continuous builds are paying off. We reiterate our support for the government in this historic national exercise, said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.

The Commission on Elections through Smartmatic tapped Globe to provide SIM cards for vote-counting machines in selected precincts and wired connectivity in canvassing centers.

Cu said that Globe will continue to "fortify" its network amid Filipinos' growing demand for connectivity.

While Globe ended 2021 with 1,407 new cell sites and 22,300 upgraded mobile sites, the top official said Globe remains committed to investing heavily in its network rollout.

This 2022, the company is planning to spend PHP 89 billion on its network.
