To recap, the new OnePlus 10T features a 6.7-inch 120Hz Fluid AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass protection. Inside is the new 4nm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 octa-core processor, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,800mAh battery with 150W SuperVOOC charging.

At the back of the phone are the 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera with an LED flash. On the front is the 16MP f/2.4 selfie camera.

In the Philippines, the OnePlus 10T starts at PHP 35,990 for the 8GB/128GB model. The 16GB/256GB model is coming soon priced at PHP 39,990.

Let's dive in.

Unboxing/Accessories

Red box
Red Box

Like past flagship OnePlus devices, the OnePlus 10T comes in a bright red box with a matte finish. Printed on the box are the OnePlus branding, specs, key features, and regulatory information.

Inside the box are the phone, SIM ejector tool, 150W charger, Red USB Type-C to Type-C cable, documentation, and stickers.

There are no included earphones or silicone cases in the box.

Build Quality/Design

Unique rear design
Unique rear design

The phone is made of a combination of glass and polycarbonate. The front glass panel is solid feeling and premium looking but it is a fingerprint smudge magnet. The back panel is made of glasstic while the inner frame is made of polycarbonate.

Build is okay, but not as great versus older premium devices...

The inner polycarbonate frame has a reflective polished finish while the glasstic back looks like glass but when combined with the reflective polished finish of the frame makes the rear of the phone look gaudier than it should be.
Two first-party cases
Two first-party cases

Fortunately, OnePlus has a robust selection of cases. Of the two that we received, we loved the black sandstone one that is reminiscent of the original OnePlus One smartphone. (Not sure if the retail package will also have this)

In front is the aforementioned 120Hz FHD+ 6.7-inch 10-bit Fluid AMOLED screen with a 360Hz touch sampling rate and HDR10+ support.

It has a punch hole that houses the front-facing camera. Around the panel are super slim bezels. Above the panel is the even slimmer earpiece.
Top and bottom
Top and bottom

On top is the microphone port while at the bottom is the SIM tray, microphone port, USB-C port, and speaker grill.

The SIM tray can carry up to two nanoSIM cards and it features a rubber gasket. This indicates a form of water and dust resistance.

Inside is a large 4,800mAh battery 150W SuperVOOC fast charging.

On the left side volume rocker while on the right is the power button. The OnePlus staple slider switch has been removed. We personally did not like to see it go as it is one of the fastest ways to switch your phone to silent or vibrate-only mode.

The phone measures 163 x 75.4 x 8.8 mm and weighs 203.5 grams.

At the back of the phone is the 50MP f/1.8 primary camera Sony IMX766 sensor with All pixel Omni-directional AF and OIS, 8MP f/2.2 119-degree ultra-wide-angle camera, and 2MP 2-4cm macro camera with an LED flash.

While on the punch hole is the 16MP f/2.4 selfie shooter with EIS.

In daylight, the rear cameras captured sharp and detailed images with vibrant color and decent contrast. It is worth noting that the ultra-wide is not as sharp as the main camera and that it has obvious distortion that may be a concern for some people.

In Indoors, the 1x and 2x maintain the image quality as in daylight but the ultra-wide camera is noticeably not as sharp as the other two.

The daylight and indoor selfies are sharp and detailed with good color and deep contrast too!

We will be running the phone thru more camera tests so stay tuned.

As of the moment

Front facing camera

The OnePlus 10T is looking to be a value-for-money pick for people who are looking for a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1-equipped smartphone for under 40K.

There is only one other phone with the SoC at under 40K so it is a very good option out of the box. Other key features are the 50MP rear camera and the 4,800mAh battery with 150W fast charging.

It also comes with a 120Hz Fluid AMOLED panel with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1.

What could be a concern for some is the polycarbonate frame and glasstic back panel.
