Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 with ultra-thin body and Leica cameras is now official!

Xiaomi today launched its newest foldable flagship smartphone called the MIX Fold 2.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 4 is designed to give the Galaxy Z Fold4 a run for its money!

Coming from its predecessor, the device a features thinner body, an upgraded hinge, a more efficient screen, and improved cameras.

In particular, the device is a clamshell foldable smartphone boasting a super-thin frame measuring just 11.2 mm when folded and just 5.4 mm when unfolded. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is 15.8mm when folded. LOL.

For the display, the device is using a 6.56-inch E5 AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, Gorilla Glass protection, and a punch-hole on the exterior. Then, the folding screen is an 8.02-inch LTPO 2.0 panel with a 2160 x 1924 resolution and up to 1,000 nits brightness. This is using a UTG flexible material as well.

Inside, the handset is using the FAST 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor with a new-generation Adreno GPU, 12GB RAM, up to 1TB internal storage, and  4,500mAh battery capacity with USB-C 67W fast charging. According to Xiaomi, it can fill its battery to 100 percent in just 40 minutes using this charging tech.

For cameras, the device is using a 50MP Sony IMX766 main shooter, a 13MP ultra-wide secondary camera module, and an 8MP 2x telephoto camera. These cameras are tuned by legendary camera maker Leica. This records up to 8K as well.

The device run with MIUI 13 redesigned for Folding Screen with large-screen desktop, redesigned system applications, top 4,000 apps compatibility, and sidebar quick start.

It is available in Black and Gold colorways.

The device is now available for pre-order in China and will go on sale starting August 16.

There is no word when will it go official in the Philippines, but this is WAY CHEAPER than the Galaxy Z Fold4.
