With a 39 percent market share, MediaTek continued to dominate the smartphone SoC market. Due mainly to the Helio G series and Dimensity 700 series, MediaTek dominates the low to mid-tier wholesale price market.

Due to lower volumes of orders from significant Chinese OEMs, MediaTek shipments in Q2 2022 are somewhat down from the prior quarter. In Q2 2022, Qualcomm gained 29 percent of the market. Although the whole economic environment was challenging and the smartphone market was a bit going downwards, Qualcomm retained its position in the premium class.

Ranking in terms of revenue

In terms of revenue, Qualcomm is still the leader in terms of smartphone AP market share with 44 percent in Q2 2022. Apple comes in 2nd with 23 percent, and MediaTek comes in 3rd with 22 percent. Qualcomm got this win due to its higher premium mix which showed significant growth.
