Globe launches "Climate Champions" mobile game!

Local telco giant Globe today announced that the company has launched a new game aiming to encourage its millions of customers to make sustainable choices in their consumption of goods and services.

Globe Climate Champions aims to educate its users on how to better care for the environment!

The game is called Globe Climate Champions. It is a mobile running game with tips on how anyone can reduce carbon emissions in their everyday activities.

The game challenges the players to run to the finish line in the shorest possible time. The players will receive speed boosts by picking up trash along the way.

Moreover, its players can further shorten their run time if they select eco-friendly choices a tthe lifestyle at the end of each round. There are trivias on how to better care for the environment as well.

The more rounds played will also unlock assorted prizes that encourages users to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle by shifting to digital transactions.

Responding to the risks and effects of climate change is a shared responsibility. This game aims to raise awareness on what actions contribute to caring for the environment, said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Office

The new Globe Climate Champions mobile game can be accessed through the New GlobeOne, GCash, and the KonsultaMD apps.

Team Globe of Good brand ambassadors June Mar Fajardo and Kuya Kim Atienza are some of the first advocates to invite the public to play the Globe Climate Champions mobile game.

To recap, Globe is a "leader" in sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. With this game, the company is using the game as a platform to promote climate action.

It is also a part of the company's United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), specifically SDG 13 on Climate Action, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Principles, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Business Ambition for 1.5°C, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Race to Zero campaign. Globe is also an early participant of the Race to Zero campaign.

Meanwhile, in the Esports world, Globe also claimed that it ensures that gaming become purposeful by matching games and games with relevant causes to support.

Globe also introduced the nationwide search for Globe Kali 'Kada, which aims to look for citizens championing sustainable practice.

The firm also delayed more than 8,500 Green Network Solutions nationwide to reduce its operational emissions and has shifted 14 key facilities to renewable energy through Retail Electricity Supply Agreements (RESA) with renewable energy suppliers.

The company also invested in climate tech solutions to enable employees and customers with innovations that can help them contribute to climate action.
