Leica revives M6 film rangefinder camera for 2022, now priced at USD 5,295!
The legendary Leica M6 from 1984 returns in 2022 after being discontinued in 2002 with updated features in response to the resurgence of film.

The return of an icon?
Leica Camera embraces the resurgence of film and has revived the M6 film digital rangefinder camera. Leica claims that the new M6 2022 is a mix of old and new.
“The Leica M6 is a milestone in the corporate history of Leica Camera AG. Since 1984, countless iconic pictures have been taken with it; it was a part of the product range for over 18 years and is still a fascinating camera with an extremely high utility value,” - Stefan Daniel, Executive Vice President of Technology and Operations at Leica
The new M6 for 2022 features a modern rangefinder with 0.72x magnification, new light meter, and new battery warning indicator. The new light meter now displays the correct exposure via a red dot in addition to the two arrow symbols that were initially used in prior runs of the camera.
All optical surfaces are coated with new coatings that make them less sensitive to stray light.
Leica has redesigned the top cover which is made from milled solid brass and is finished with abrasion-resistant black lacquer. In contrast with the original M6 being made of die-cast zinc.\

The new M6 will be available for purchase in the United States on November 3, 2022, from Leica Stores, Leica Boutiques and Leica Online store.
There is no word yet on Philippine availability and pricing.
