Redmi announces the Note 12 series, one of them will be the vanilla Note 12 5G which poses interesting hardware.

The most significant here will be the first appearance of the 6nm 2.0GHz Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 for Redmi smartphones which will be the successor to the previous Snapdragon 400 series. It is also accompanied by a new Adreno GPU but will likely have an entry-level graphics output.

Another thing to point out will be the 6.67-inch FHD+ 1080 x 2400 GOLED Samsung display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate and even a 240Hz touch sampling rate for a quicker and more accurate touch response. The display also has up to 1,200 peak brightness.

The new processor is paired with 4GB/6GB/8GB choices of LPDDR4X RAM and two storage options of either 128GB or 256GB UFS 2.2.

On the battery side, it uses the typical 5,000mAh capacity and charges using a USB-C 33W power adapter.

For cameras, it uses 48MP as primary and is coupled with a 2MP depth helper. Meanwhile, the selfie shooter uses 8MP.

Other notable features are an IP53 rating for dust and water splash resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Connectivity features are 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6 (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and dual nano SIM support.

For the software, it runs Android 12 with MIUI 13 out of the box.

The device is now up for preorder in China and the sale begins on October 31, 2022. No word yet for the PH launch though. We will update you once we heard about it.
