realme earlier announced a new fast-charging solution that can "safely" fill a phone's battery to the max in just minutes.

The fastest charging phone in the world is coming?

It is the USB-C 240W fast charging solution, the speediest in the world for smartphones yet. 240W is similar to the OPPO SUPERVOOC Flash Charge tech announced last MWC 2022, but realme claims that they will be the first to mass produce the said technology.

To achieve this, realme used a small USB-C "double GaN" adapter that can output up to 240W 20V/12A of power.

Then, the 240W will split into 3 independent charging pumps which are likely equivalent to 3 battery cells. It also has a 12A cable with 4x standard AWG 3mm cables and 13 real-time temperature sensors ensuring its safety, PS3 Fireproof design, and a Graphene Phase-change Cooling Material.

realme also claimed that even if it super-fast in charging, the phone's battery won't degrade that quickly. They assured those who will use it that the phone's battery will retain at least 80 percent of its original charge after 1,600 cycles. The current standard is just 800.

The first phone to use this? The upcoming realme GT Neo 5.

Based on recent leaks, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. I twill also come with a 6.7-inch 1.5K 2772 x 1240 screen with 144Hz refresh rate and 2,160Hz PWM dimming. The device is also expected to feature the 50MP Sony IMX890m sensor with OIS, 8MP ultra-wide cam, another 2MP camera, and a 16MP selfie camera.
