With this relaunch, Riot officially ends its 12-year publishing partnership with Garena and begins server operations and publishing for both games in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, and Vietnam.

Account migration enabling players to move their Garena League/TFT account data to their Riot accounts started on November 18 of last year.

Players can now look forward to being a part of the Riot ecosystem, gaining access to content that was previously inaccessible in cross-franchise events, as well as exciting outside-of-game experiences like community activities and Riot-operated esports events, after the migration was successful and new Riot servers were launched.

Additionally, players in the area will have access to localized Riot Publishing features including Localization, Billing, Player Support, as well as upcoming regional marketing collaborations. All SEA League and TFT players will now also be using the Riot Client to play.

Riot Games has declared that the rolling ranked season will begin on January 10th to commemorate the relaunch. The Welcome Event, which begins on January 13th, will provide players the opportunity to earn various Tokens that can be used to get FREE permanent skin shards, legendary eggs, and even Ultimate skins.

In addition, SEA players will have the chance to free unlock every champion released between 2009 and 2021 in remembrance of LoL's original launch by simply fulfilling in-game objectives. Riot's Lunar New Year Event, which begins on January 13th, will also help to usher in the holiday season.

The "TFT Monsters Attack!" Set 8 rank for SEA players will also transfer to the new Riot servers. Players can access Set 8 content after the relaunch on the new Riot servers. The purchase of the Monsters Attack Pass and any acquired inventory will be moved, but users' progress in the Monsters Attack Pass will not.

As a one-time bonus associated with the welcome event, players will receive a modified version of the Monsters Attack Pass-related objectives that allow players an expedited accumulation of experience to make up for the shorter playtime.

League of Legends Season Kickoff Tournament

This new esports season also denotes a change in League esports' ownership and management. Additionally, Riot Games will restart the Vietnam Championship Series. Riot wants to keep giving League professional teams and fans the most thrilling and entertaining esports experiences with the publishing transition.

During a unique two-day broadcasted event on January 10–11, the LCS, LEC, LCK, LPL, LJL, CBLOL, LLA, PCS, and VCS will preview the 2023 season and spotlight players to watch. This will provide fans a sneak preview of Season 2023 on the Rift and an idea of what to expect for League esports. Soon, further details about the event's schedule and format will be made available. The League of Legends All-Star Event will be replaced by the Kickoff event.
