MediaTek shares Dimensity 7200 features

The Dimensity 7200 is the first in their 7000 Series of 5G-ready smartphone processors. It is also the first to use the latest Armv9 'big core' CPUs. Besides being capable of gaming and photography, it has 4nm lithography providing efficient battery consumption. According to MediaTek, this aspect is essential in this country, where Filipino users spend an average of 10 hours every day online.

Below are the 7 features of this new chip as provided by MediaTek:

Longer usage times, improved performance - The new chip uses 2x 2.85GHz A715 CPUs and 6x Cortex A510 cores plus Arm Mali-G610 MC4 graphics engine, which according to MediaTek should deliver performance suitable for gaming, apps, and daily tasks. While HyperEngine 5.0 optimizes the performance of the whole smartphone. Again the 4nm design made the energy management much more efficient without compromising the quality.

Bigger, bolder, clearer pictures and videos - The firm says it supports 14-bit HDR ISP and 200MP sensors on smartphones that should give DSLR-like quality and imaging performance. The Motion Compensated Noise Reduction feature seamlessly produces high-quality photos and videos in low-light scenes.

The Dimensity 7200 also supports simultaneous dual video capture, allowing users to both record on front and back cameras, as well as normal and wide footage. Vlogs can simultaneously capture a live event and a personal reaction, or two independent points of view. The processor also enables 4K HDR video recording, enabling filmmakers to shoot videos and photos with cinematic quality and detail.

Powerful AI-camera enhancements - Dimensity 7200 boasts an AI chip called the APU 650 which permits AI camera enhancements like the portrait beauty mode for selfies effectively.

Better 5G speed and power efficiency - The chip supports up to 4.7Gbps in 5G downlink rates, and devices with dual 5G SIM capabilities can select from a variety of 5G connections and dual VoNR for the optimum voice and video call quality. The power-saving improvements in MediaTek 5G UltraSave 2.0 technologies ensure that utilizing 5G won't shorten battery life.

High refresh rate displays with vivid HDR visuals - Phone makers can take advantage of creating screens with up to 144Hz refresh rates, while the SoC also supports HDR10+, CUVA HDR, and Dolby HDR. The Dimensity 7200's technology will also improve standard-grade video in HDR with MediaTek's AI SDR-to-HDR.

Faster Wi-Fi 6E - Smartphones can now benefit from the gigabit+ wireless connectivity performance of the 6GHz band thanks to Wi-Fi 6E technology. Users will benefit from quicker downloads, whether they are using Wi-Fi at home or at the office. Smartphone users can have a stable Wi-Fi experience on their portable devices by combining home routers, mesh networking hardware, and MediaTek Filogic.

Reliable Bluetooth connections for earbuds and other peripherals - Users can connect Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices simultaneously with the chip's Bluetooth 5.3 technology and MediaTek Wi-Fi/Bluetooth hybrid coexistence technology.
