Nokia announced a new smartphone with extra tough enhancements for different environmental conditions.
The smartphone highlights the IP69K certification, the highest IP protection against water and dust. As per Nokia's claims, the phone can withstand close-range, high-pressure, and high-temperature spray-downs.
Another thing to point out is the MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification and the brand says it can also withstand drops up to 1.8 meters. Ensuring users that it is indeed built to last.
In terms of display, it features a 6.49-inch LCD (IPS) screen with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. In addition, Nokia said the screen can work when using gloves or when your hands are wet.
Inside, the device uses a 6nm 2.4GHz Snapdragon 695 SoC, paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
On the battery side, it has a 4,800mAh capacity which charges using USB-C, and a 33W power adaptor.
For cameras, the phone uses 64MP f/1.8 primary shooter and 8MP for ultra-wide. For selfies, it uses 16MP f/2.5.
Other features mentioned are the side-mounted fingerprint reader, 3.5mm audio jack, Extra lou stereo speakers up to 96dB, and OZO Playback Water.
For connectivity, it has 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and dual SIM support.
For OS, the phone runs Android 12 with guaranteed 4 years of monthly security patches and 3 Major OS updates.

When it comes to availability, the Nokia XR21 will come around early June in the UK. However, there are no words for other markets.
