Report: Apple is the most popular camera brand in the world, Canon ranks second

According to the SimpleGhar Flickr analysis, Apple is the most popular photography device brand in the world.

Apple's iPhones are the most used cameras in the world

SimpleGhar basically analyzed the tags assigned to more than 470 million photos uploaded on Flickr to discover which brands were most used overall and ranked the camera models and phones that were used most often for photos within each country based on the 5,000 of the latest photos uploaded. The data they collected was in March 2023.

Most popular cameras in every country

It discovered that Apple accounted for 150,787,710 photos on Flickr which is equivalent to 31.79 percent. The most popular model is the Apple iPhone 11 with 13,212,135 tags while the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max is the most popular camera phone in the US.

Most popular camera brands

The 2nd most popular camera brand is Canon with 133,780,254 followed by Nikon with 81,630,364, Sony with 43,377,725, and Fujifilm with 11,278,272. The most popular camera model is the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV with 11,761,586 followed by the Sony A7 III with 9,094,495.

Other mobile brands that made the list are Google, OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, and HUAWEI, among others.

In the Philippines, iPhone 13 Pro Max is the most used camera phone on Flickr. for proper cameras, the Canon EOS 1200D is the most used model.
