Globe said it has mobilized its resources to provide assistance to its customers affected by Mayon Volcano's ongoing eruption.

Extended due dates, free services for Globe customers

In a statement, the Ayala-led telco said it is currently offering various critical services in support of the #BrigadangAyala efforts to communities affected by Mayon which remains under Alert Level 3 status. Globe said the company is working with its partners on the ground to provide necessary relief, communications support, and monetary aid to those affected.

The telco also set up three Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng WiFi sites in Daraga, Guinobatan, and Malilipot. Here is the full schedule of Globe's free call, charging, and WiFi booths:

June 16 - 21, 8 AM to 5 PM

Daraga Evacuation Center - Anislag, Daraga, Albay
Guinobatan Community College - Mauraro, Guinobatan, Albay
San Jose Elementary School - San Jose, Malilipot, Albay

Globe said its technical and support teams have also set up backup generators in key facilities in anticipation of possible power disruptions.

To ensure continued connection, the telco said its prepaid users will get free one-day access to GoUnli with unli calls and text to all networks, 100MB access for all apps and sites, and another 100MB access for Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp, and Twitter.

For TM users, Globe said they will get free All-Net Surf access for one day with unli all-net calls and texts, 100MB of free data, and 100MB more for Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp, and Twitter.

Home Prepaid WiFi users will, meanwhile, get 5GB open access for three days, it said. Globe Mobile Postpaid and Globe At Home Postpaid users will get extended bill due dates, it added.

Globe said it is also offering free teleconsulation through the KonsultaMD app using the code KMDBICOL2023 (valid for a one-time use within one month).

To ensure that residents have the latest information about the volcano, Globe said it has also enabled free data access to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology websites.

Globe encouraged residents in Albay to store essential supplies and emergency kits. The company also urged those living in danger zones to evacuate.
