PLDT releases statement regarding "slow internet"

Earlier we reported that there seems to be an Internet Outage in the Philippines. Downdetector.ph website recorded thousands of reports pertaining to this issue.

Apparently, PLDT and Smart users are mostly experiencing this situation thus many are affected by not being unable to access Google, Facebook, Play Store, YouTube, Gmail, and other related apps and websites.

The culprit behind this is the undersea cable partners that lost internet bandwidth capacity and thus causing slower internet browsing to affected users.

As of this writing, PLDT noted they are now working closely with their partners to provide an "alternate capacity" that would bring back the browsing experience in the next few hours.

In our experience, our Smart 5G router still cannot access the aforementioned apps and websites but we are able to access other apps like Netflix, Mobile Legends and TikTok.

Right now we opted to switch between Globe and DITO data connections to stay in touch with the internet.

What do you guys think?
