Smart Prepaid eSIM is coming soon? |
First Prepaid eSIM service in the Philippines
To recap, an eSIM (embedded SIM) is an industry-standard digital SIM that allows users to activate a cellular plan without the traditional physical SIM cards.
This tech also allows subscribers may easily activate a mobile plan between multiple operator profiles without having to switch out their physical SIM and phone manufacturers to maximize the internals of a phone further.
eSIM is not new to Smart as it started offering the service to its subscribers back in 2021.
Prepaid eSIM will allow those with eSIM-compatible smartphones but without an existing plan to enjoy Smart's mobile services.
How to activate the SIM?
To activate the SIM, Smart shared that all we need to do is scan the eSIM QR codeand register your mobile number at smart.com.ph/simreg.
Compatibility
On its website, Smart said that eSIM is compatible with select HUAWEI, Samsung, and Apple devices. Most of them are 5G-ready devices.

PHP 99 eSIM with data |
Smart Prepaid eSIM - PHP 99
According to a report from our friend Bryan of Technobaboy, the eSIM is priced at PHP 99 only. It even comes with 21GB of mobile data as well as FREE calls and texts to all networks for seven (7) days.
However, the post has been taken down from its official website already. Likely, they uploaded this info by mistake ahead of its official launch.
But on its eSIM FAQ page, Smart noted that,
If you are a new Smart subscriber, the cost of an eSIM will be based on the current standard price of the number category you choose.
If you are an existing Smart subscriber and would like to change from a physical SIM card to an eSIM, the standard 1 USD fee applies. This also applies to eSIM replacements.
