It is no secret that tech giant HUAWEI will soon bring two new tablets boasting PC-like capabilities to the Philippines—the MatePad 11.5 and MatePad Air.

According to the company, the new tablets play an essential role in the modern workstation as they can act like a sidekick to your PC and even a midpoint between your smartphone and PC which caters to different needs.

So, in case you are interested in these types of tablets, HUAWEI has listed the reasons that make the MatePad 11.5 and MatePad Air exciting for hardworking Filipinos.

1. Bigger and wider displays for productivity
- Both MatePads are equipped with an 11.5-inch HUAWEI FullView Display with a 3:2 aspect ratio designed for productivity. 3:2 provides an extra vertical space to its users for checking emails, browsing the web, writing, and doing other things all at the same time versus traditional 16:9 screens.

MatePad 11.5-inch features a screen-to-body ratio of 86 percent with 2200 x 1440 resolution at 120Hz refresh rate while the MatePad Air is slightly more immersive at 87 percent with a crisper 2800 x 1840 at 144Hz refresh rate.

2. Useful accessories - The MatePad 11.5-inch comes with a detachable HUAWEI Smart Keyboard. This is a keyboard and a kickstand in one that transforms the tablet into a laptop-like machine. Moreover, it is compatible with the HUAWEI M-Pencil works seamlessly with the HUAWEI Notes feature within the HUAWEI MatePad, and offers a reduced latency for an exceptionally smooth notetaking experience in the classroom.

On the other hand, the MatePad Air comes with the Smart Magnetic Keyboard and HUAWEI M-Pencil (2nd Generation) at the same time. It even boasts a PC-level typing experience with 1.5mm key travel, seamless charging, and more than 40 shortcut key combinations.

3. Stylish and compact look - The new MatePad 11.5-inch features a metal unibody design in a Space Grey colorway. The MatePad Air uses a frosting process that results in an elegant finish with fingerprint resistance. 

MatePad Air is just 6.4mm slim with an overall weight of 508 grams. The MatePad 11.5-inch is a bit thicker at 6.85mm but is a bit lighter at 499 grams.

HUAWEI also utilizes the Cavity Slot Magnetic Antenna design for both tablets allowing them to achieve a seamless body design and uninterrupted wireless signals, without the need for any gaps or blocks on the device. 

4. Capable specs - The MatePad 11.5-inch uses a 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 octa-core processor, Adreno 644 GPU, 6GB/8GB RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 7,700mAh battery with a 22.5W SuperCharge fast wired charging via USB-C.

Meanwhile, the MatePad Air is even stronger. It goes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor, Adreno 660 GPU, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB of storage, and an 8,300mAh battery with a 40W SuperCharge fast wired charging.

For cameras, both are using a 13MP f/1.8 main camera and an 8MP f/2.2 selfie shooter.

5. PC-like features - The new MatePads feature the PC-Level WPS Office which provides users with the same capabilities you would expect from a desktop such as document editing, access to spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations.

The two also feature the 
HUAWEI Notes that give full play to the tablet's advantages in handwriting experience that even support nimble handwriting input as well as 15x canvas zoom capability that makes it easier than ever to create intricate mind maps and illustrations.

The tabs also have split-screen viewing and can open up to four notes at the same time.

Both run with the HUAWEI-developed HarmonyOS 3.1.
